B P National Institute of Social Science Library
Established in 1968, the B P National Institute of Social Science Library began as a small resource center dedicated to supporting academic and research endeavors. Over the past 50 years, its growth has been remarkable, evolving into a major hub of knowledge and information.
On February 6, 2010, the library transitioned into its own independent building, marking a significant milestone in its journey. Spanning 1,800 square feet, the facility now serves as a vital resource for students, researchers, and scholars, offering extensive collections and modern facilities to enhance learning and exploration.
As a key information provider, the library continues to expand its reach, fostering intellectual growth and academic excellence.
Mission of the Library
The B P National Institute of Social Science Library is committed to fostering knowledge and research by acquiring, organizing, preserving, and utilizing diverse information resources. Our mission is to provide efficient and effective library services to students, research scholars, and faculty members, ensuring seamless access to academic materials that support learning and intellectual growth.
Named in honor of Late Shri Ishwar Deshmukh, the library houses a unique collection of 14,649 books spanning various disciplines, along with five life membership journals, 20 subscribed periodicals, and 51 free magazines. To keep readers updated with the latest knowledge, new titles are continuously added.
With a fully computerized system, the library not only supports academic teaching but also encourages a culture of reading among students. It organizes user orientation programs to help students navigate resources efficiently.
With a focus on accessibility, innovation, and academic excellence, our library continues to be a vital hub for knowledge seekers.
Library Automation & Digital Resources
As part of its commitment to modernization, the B P National Institute of Social Science Library has fully automated its housekeeping activities and information services using “LIB-MAN” software, developed by Master Software, Nagpur. This automation enhances efficiency, making library operations seamless and user-friendly.
The UGC-sponsored Internet Resource Center serves as a dedicated learning hub, providing students and faculty with easy access to digital academic resources. With Wi-Fi connectivity, the library offers free Internet services, allowing readers to browse a vast collection of e-resources.
Through the N-LIST digital library facility of INFLIBNET, users can access:

This extensive digital collection ensures that students, researchers, and faculty members have access to the latest academic materials, fostering a culture of continuous learning and research excellence.

Unique Features Of Library
Library Mitra Award
Five students from B.S.W. I to III & MSW I & II who used the library most will be awarded for the “Library Mitra” of the year and his/her name will be displayed on the notice board in every month but the award is given only in the end of the session.
