About Library :

            The beginning of the B. P. National Institute of Social Work  Library was in 1968. Library had a small beginning and in these 50 years its growth has been phenomenal. It moved to an independent building in 6^th February 2010.

As a major source of information provider .It occupies a total area of 1800 square feet.

 Mission of the Library

        The mission of the Library is to acquire, to organize, to utilize and to preserve the information sources and to extend effective and efficient service to the student, research scholars and faculty members of the college

             Late Shri Ishwar Deshmukh Memorial Library of the college has a unique collection of 14649 books on different subjects and 5 life membership journals,  subscribes to 20 periodicals and  51 free magazines. New titles are added from time to time in order to ensure that readers are provided with updated study materials.

             The fully computerized Library is not only supportive to teaching but also inculcates the reading habits among students. The library organizes user orientation programme for students. The library gives various user friendly services like reference service, newspaper clipping service, Xeroxing service, book bank service, Internet & E-mail Service, inter- library loan services etc. Separate reading room is provided for the students and faculty members

              As part of the automation process the library has purchased Software namely “LIB-MAN” developed by Master Software, Nagpur.Library has fully automated housekeeping activities and information services.UGC sponsored  Internet resource centre is functioning as a learning centre.

            The library has Wi-Fi connectivity which offers the reader free internet service to browse E-resources. More than 6000+ e- journals and 31, 35,000+ e-books can be accessed under N-LIST digital library facility of INFLIBNET Service.

 Library Mitra:

Five students from B.S.W. I to III & MSW I & II who used the library most , will be awarded for the ‘Library Mitra’ of the year and his/her name will be displayed on the notice board in every month but the award is given only in the end of the session.

Ex & External Student (Reader)  Scheme

          Library adopted two  scheme :

1. Ex-college students scheme its membership fee’s 500/- yearly

2. Another scheme is external/ Research scholar/ M.Phil, NET/SET student scheme. Its membership fees 1000/-Rs for  6 month . 2000/-Rs (refundable )for issue one book for home to Ex & external student.
