From Principal’s Desk…..

Welcome to the new academic year 2023-24 ! I wish to congratulate you for choosing B. P. National Institute of social work as the preferred choice for social work education. You will be here as proud students for the next few years. I assure you that the institute will provide qualitative education which will help you to become professional.

B.P. National Institute of Social Work was established in 1968. The Institute was founded by late Adv. Shri Ishwarbabu Deshumukh. The Institute is affiliated to RTM Nagpur University and recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra and under section (2) F of University Grant Commission Act 1956. The Governing Legislation of the college is Maharashtra Public Universities Act 2016. It has been Re-Accredited with the A  Grade  by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Bangalore in 2019 and preparing for fourth cycle of reaccreditation in the current academic session.

The Institute offers BSW and MSW level academic program. The BSW Program is offered with the aim of preparing generalist Social Work practitioners whereas MSW program is offered with the aim of preparing advanced specialist, Social Work practitioners with a focused training in one or two areas of concentration.

We at BPNISW believe that learning beyond classroom is equally important as the classroom interaction. The first thing that strikes me about higher education is knowledge gain. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. Therefore, students are encouraged to organize and participate in the various co-curricular, extra-curricular activities as well as sports. The infrastructure available in the college has been appropriate for the college of social work education. Our efforts are directed towards student development for employment and self-employment. The college attracts many top NGOs for placement and the number of students getting placed is increasing year after year.

I am prompted to use a Adam Gran’s quote to end what I believe in “The mark of higher education isn't the knowledge you accumulate in your head, It's the skills you gain about how to learn.
